Make slime at home, the Gui Gui way

A grown-up-supervised recipe, styled with the five steps — and how to glow up an old jar.

Make slime at home, the Gui Gui way

First, the honest bit

Gui Gui's scented bases are made by Moose Toys and the recipes are not public, so you cannot recreate a Gui Gui jar exactly at home. What you can borrow is the routine — and that is where the magic is.

Step 1 — Make a base (with an adult)

Mix half a cup of clear or white PVA school glue with half a cup of water, add half a teaspoon of baking soda, then stir in contact-lens saline a teaspoon at a time until the slime pulls away from the bowl. Knead until smooth. Adults should handle the saline, and the slime is never for eating.

Step 2 — Boost it

Fold in a spoon of foam beads for crunch, or a squeeze of unscented lotion for a softer, butter-like stretch.

Step 3 — Decorate

Press in a few charms or beads — the same way you would decorate a Gui Gui jar.

Step 4 — Add a figure

Any small figurine works as the topper; store it in a lidded jar for display.

Step 5 — Sparkle

A pinch of fine craft glitter finishes the look. Close the lid tightly between sessions.

Glow up an old Gui Gui jar

If a Gui Gui slime has stiffened, knead in a few drops of warm water, then restyle it with leftover charms from another pack. Want the real thing? Start with a twin pack.
